LEGACY #149

LEGACY #149:
Rotting Christ and Metal in Switzerland: For 35 years, they have been shaping the Extreme Metal scene. In the early 90s, they were instrumental in inventing Black Metal, and with “Non Serviam”, they created at least one immortal classic. We're talking about the Greek band Rotting Christ, who are now presenting their new album “Pro Xristoy” (Soundcheck winner!) and thus grace the cover of our issue. In addition to an in-depth conversation with Sakis Tolis and a discography check, other band members and friendly artists also share their insights – including an introduction to ten additional milestones of Hellenic steel that you shouldn't miss. Additionally, the accompanying 5-track Rotting Christ CD “Echoes Of Apostasy” includes, among others, an unreleased song from the new album!

Next, we dive into the Swiss metal scene. Across 14 packed pages, we chat with Messiah, Poltergeist, Excruciation, Schammasch, Vomitheist, and many more, offering a glimpse into the festival scene of this mountainous neighboring country, and eventually presenting 30 must-have records of various genres. Another highlight: Nergal (Behemoth) and David Vincent (I Am Morbid, Vltimas, Ex-Morbid Angel) sat down at a virtual table and talked with us about God, the devil, censorship, and the wars of this world – truly a conversation by and about real characters in metal. Of course, we also cover all the current topics: extensive interviews with Accept, Disbelief, Dragonforce and Rage, as well as underground analyses with Austere, Darkestrah, Exhumation, Fall Of Serenity, Waidelotte and many more are just a few of the highlights. For those already preparing for the festival summer, there's a considerable number of exclusive tips with previews.
